Lois J. Henningsen Holton, 89, of Marshalltown, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Southridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Marshalltown. Funeral services were 10:30 A.M., Monday, October 26, 2009 at Beaman United Methodist Church in Beaman, IA. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation was from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Johnston Funeral Home in Conrad, IA. Online condolences may be sent to the family at vogelfuneralhomes.com Lois was born on February 9, 1920, the daughter of Roy and Anna Ethel (Parkin) Vint , on a farm one mile north of Beaman, IA. She attended and graduated from Beaman High School. Lois married Wilbur Henningsen on April 26, 1941 in Albion, IA. The couple moved to his parents farm five and one half miles South of Grundy Center. The couple raised an array of livestock, and several crops. Lois kept a large garden and enjoyed canning her many vegetables. She took the most pride and interest in raising chickens, her laying hens created the need for the Gladbrook egg truck to visit once a week. Lois was a real farm lady helping with the many chores of the day and still making time for her many baked goods and breads. Wilbur passed away on January 28, 1983. Lois moved to Marshalltown in January of 1983. Lois married Robert Holton on November 25, 1983 in rural Grundy County. Lois will be missed by her husband, Robert; her two sons, Richard (Sandra) Henningsen of Grundy Center, IA and Robert (Jann) Henningsen of St. Louis, MO, one grandson, Dennis (Gina) Henningsen of Grundy Center, IA, two granddaughters, Denise (Jamie) Grant of Volga, IA and Kelli Henningsen of Grundy Center, IA; five great grandchildren, Colton and Miranda Henningsen, Ethan, Zachary and Isabelle Grant, and two step-daughters, Linda Holton of Vancouver, British Columbia and Kathy Gadwood of Sacremento CA. In eternal life, Lois joins her brother, Paul Vint and her sister, Marna Adams.
