Gals & Guys 4-H Potluck The first meeting of the Gladbrook Gals and Guys will be held at the Gladbrook Memorial Building on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. The 09/10 year will kick off with a potluck followed by the installation of officers and initiation of new members. If you are interested in 4-H and are in 4th-12th grade, the Gals and Guys would like you and your family to be our guests at this potluck provided by current members and to become a member of our club. Current members should have received a postcard reminding you what to bring!! Officers should arrive by 5:30.
Garwin Fire & Ambulance Mock Car Accident Garwin Fire & Ambulance will be conducting a Mock Car Accident on October 21, 6:00 p.m. The “accident” will occur on the street by the Fire Station. Spousal Support Group Iowa River Hospice hosts a Spousal Support Group at Hyvee in Marshalltown on Oct 11th @ 5pm. This group meets at the same time and place the second Sunday of each month for a meal, support and socialization (Usually not intended for newly bereaved persons). If questions, call 753-7704.
Iowa River Hospice Iowa River Hospice will be providing its annual autumn Grow Thru Grief group starting Thursday, Oct 29th at 5:30pm in the conference room of the lower level at the Iowa River Hospice Home at 502 Plaza Heights Rd. This group will meet for 5 sessions. The group is free of charge and open to any adult dealing with the death of a loved one. The group discusses the grief process and offers support through the holiday season which is always a hard time of year for grieving people. Iowa River Hospice Common Bonds Iowa River Hospice hosts a caregivers group Common Bonds developed to nurture caregivers on Oct 19th @ 2pm. Each day can be a challenge for the caregiver but you are not alone. All are welcome-meets every 3rd Monday at Villa Del Sol in Marshalltown in the 200 Hall Lounge.
Tama County Livestock & Fair Association The Tama County Livestock & Fair Association will hold the October Meeting at the Tama County Extension Office in Toledo, on MONDAY, OCTOBER 26th (Please note date change) at 7:00 pm (please note time) . This meeting is open to anyone interested in the Tama County Fair.

Gladbrook Fitness & Wellness Center Open House Gladbrook Fitness and Wellness Center will be having an open house on Sunday, Oct 11th from 1 - 4. We will have staff available for initial and refresher training on all of the equipment. There will also be a open swimming to the public during the Open House. Please come join us on the 11th.

Scouting For Food - Garwin Local Boy Scout Troops will be collecting canned goods and non-perishable items on Saturday October 17th beginning at 9 AM. Notes will be placed on doors on Monday October 12 stating collection times as a reminder. These items will go for local food pantries and local families in need. The Garwin items will be turned into St. Boniface Catholic Church for distribution. Our local Scout district is TAMAHA which stands for Tama, Marshall, & Hardin Counties. We are one of the few districts that participate in the Scouting for Food collection. We have had good participation from the community through the years, we wish to thank everyone that has contributed and to those that will be contributing this year.
