Kids Club Calling all 2nd-4th graders who would like to belong to a club, where you will learn to be a better friend to yourself, others, and to God. Kids Club, an after-school program, begins Sept. 16th, 3:30-5:00 at the Gladbrook UMC, and each Wednesday that school is in session. Permission forms are available at the sponsoring churches, Peace Church, Gladbrook UMC, and Salem Church of Lincoln, and Gifts of Grace. Please return the forms before Sept. 16th to any of the above named locations. The UMC will host Sept. 16-Dec. 16th and Peace Church Jan. 6th-April 21st.

Olivet Lodge #436 A.F & A.M. Olivet Lodge #436 A.F. & A.M. will meet Thursday, September 10th. Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Please bring a dish to share. Meeting at 7:30 p.m.

2009 G-R Graduates 2009 G-R graduates, if you purchased a yearbook, it can be picked up in the high school office.

Garwin Revitalization Committee Community Breakfast Garwin Revitalization Committee will host a Community Breakfast, Sunday, September 6, serving from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Garwin Community Center.

Gladbrook Auxiliary The Gladbrook Auxiliary will meet on Mon., Sept. 14th, at 7 p.m. at the Memorial Building. Historian Karen Pieper will give her report. This is also music month. Officers and committee chairmen are to meet at 6 p.m. for the School of Instruction. Hostesses are Kay Lowry and Kathy Vavroch.

Gladbrook Women’s Club The Gladbrook Women’s Club will hold their regular meeting at Mary Jane Schaeferle’s home (program change) on Sept 10th at 1:30. The Executive Board meeting will be held on Sept 8th at the Gifts of Grace at 8:30 a.m. Garwin

Siren Testing The Garwin Fire Department will test emergency sirens every 3rd Monday through the summer months.

Gladbrook Farmer’s Market Wednesday evernings 5 to 7 p.m. in front of the City Center. In case of rain, will be held in City Center.

Library Coffee Time Stop in and join us every Friday afternoon at the Gladbrook Public Library at 2 p. m. for coffee and conversation. We might even discuss a book or two. Bring a friend and hopefully brighten your day and ours!! Pat & Karen

Gladbrook Museum Gladbrook Museum will be open 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday & Sunday starting May 1 until the end of November. Gladbrook Museum is located on the second floor of the City Center.

Tama County Livestock & Fair Association September Meeting The Tama Co. Livestock & Fair Association will hold the September Meeting on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at 7:00 pm at the Tama County Fairgrounds in Gladbrook.

Garwin Freedom Days Fundraiser 1st Annual Tailgate Kickoff Garwin Freedom Days Fundraising Committee will sponsor their 1st Annual Tailgate Kickoff, Iowa vs. Iowa State, Saturday, September 12, 2009, Garwin City Park, Garwin, Iowa. Raising of the Flags starts at 7:00 a.m., kickoff at 11 a.m., game will be televised. $3 per person/$5 per couple. Tailgate potluck, b.y.o.b./b.y.o.l.c.(lawn chair). Show your support and wear your colors.

Garwin Freedom Days Spaghetti Suppers Garwin Freedom Days Fundraising Committee will sponsor Thursday night spaghetti suppers starting Thursday, September 10 thru the first Thursday of October, serving from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Garwin Shelter House at the park. This is a free-will offering.

Boswell Rep to Hold Office Hours in Tama County Des Moines, IA- Rep. Leonard Boswell will have a member of his staff in Benton and Tama Counties, Tuesday, September 8th, for open office hours. Greg Johnson, Boswell’s District Representative covering Benton and Tama Counties, will be at: Gladbrook City Hall from 1:30PM – 2:30 PM Johnson will be on hand to work with individuals who are having difficulty with a government agency, have suggestions for the Congressman or would just like to share their concerns. Members of the public are invited to attend.
