Gladbrook Auxiliary The Gladbrook Auxiliary will meet on Mon., July 13th, at 7 p.m. This meeting will be hosted by the Garwin Unit with joint installation of officers. Please try to attend.

Reinbeck 4th of July Car Show A “Show and Shine” car show will be held the 4th of July at Elmwood Park in Reinbeck. If you would like to participate, Bring Your Ride, Shine It Up, and Show It Off!! Cars will be on display from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Participants may come and go as you please. No Entry Fee! No Judging! Just Come and Enjoy The Day! Food vendors and entertainment in the park! Parade, Fireworks and Other Activities throughout the day! Everyone is invited to come and check out the cars on display. Garwin 4th of July Pancake Breakfast The July 4th festivities are coming to Garwin. The Garwin Fire Department is sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast on July 4. The event will be at the City Park Shelter House and serving will be from 7 to 10 AM. The Department will also have a booth on July 3 & 4 for a 50/50 drawing. All prodeeds will go for equipment for the Garwin Fire Department.

Garwin Siren Testing The Garwin Fire Department will test emergency sirens every 3rd Monday through the summer months.

Gladbrook Gals & Guys REMINDER: All Gladbrook Gals & Guys 4-H members please plan to complete our Tama County Fair Ground clean up assignment on Saturday, July 11. Please arrive at 8:30 a.m. and report to the Rogers Building. Jenny Gienger and Callie Hulst are hostesses. We are completing our assignment one week early. We will also have a short club meeting following the clean up. Also watch for your Tama County Queen banquet assignments in the mail. The banquet is in the afternoon Sunday, July 19 at the Gladbrook United Methodist Church. Next meeting is August 9.

Gladbrook Lions Annual Golf Tournament Note: Date Change The Gladbrook Lions Club will host their Annual Golf Tournament on Satuday, August 8, 2009 at the Oakwood Golf Course at Conrad. 2-Person Best Shot, $25.00 entry fee/per person, bring own cart. Flighted cash prizes. Please call Terry Schmitz (641) 473-2209; Cornell Gethmann (641) 473-2416 or Oakwood Golf Course (641) 366-2211 to enter. Fun for all. This event is open to the public.

Gladbrook Farmer’s Market Wednesday evernings 5 to 7 p.m. in front of the City Center. In case of rain, will be held in City Center.

Library Coffee Time Stop in and join us every Friday afternoon at the Gladbrook Public Library at 2 p. m. for coffee and conversation. We might even discuss a book or two. Bring a friend and hopefully brighten your day and ours!! Pat & Karen

Grief Healers Support Group Iowa River Hospice hosts a Grief Healers Support Group at Our NEW Location 502 Plaza Heights Rd on July 2nd @ 1:00-2:00 pm. This group meets at the same time and place the first Thursday of each month. We are open to all individuals who have experienced the death of a loved one. Grief is a healthy and natural response to death. It is difficult to process. Come join us in our journey of healing. If questions call 753-7704.

Olivet Lodge #436 A.F. & A.M. Olivet Lodge #436 A.F. & A.M. will meet Thursday, July 9th at 7:30 p.m.    Gladbrook Museum Gladbrook Museum will be open 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday & Sunday starting May 1 until the end of November. Gladbrook Museum is located on the second floor of the City Center.

Garwin Fire Department Fundraiser The Garwin Fire Department is sponsoring a 50/50 fundraiser with proceeds to go to new equipment for the department. According to organizer Donny Fleming the tickets will be available during the July 4 weekend festivities. Drawing will be on July 4 at 6 PM. Watch for further details next week.

Garwin Wednesday Night Entertainment Garwin Wednesday Night Entertainment on the bandstand on July 1 will be Silver Creek. The time is 7 to 8 PM. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the performances.

Pork Loin Dinner Crayon Corner Learning Center Crayon Corner Learning Center will be hosting a Pork Loin Dinner (free will donation) to raise funds for the new facility on Sunday, July 12th at noon.  It will be held at the Gladbrook City Center. Spousal Support Group Iowa River Hospice hosts a Spousal Support Group at Hyvee in Marshalltown on July 12th @ 5pm. This group meets at the same time and place the second Sunday of each month for a meal, support and socialization (Usually not intended for newly bereaved persons).
