Gladbrook Class of ‘69 The Gladbrook Class of ‘69 would like to invite anyone who would like to visit with us to the Memorial Building after 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27.

Reinbeck 4th of July Car Show A “Show and Shine” car show will be held the 4th of July at Elmwood Park in Reinbeck. If you would like to participate, Bring Your Ride, Shine It Up, and Show It Off!! Cars will be on display from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Participants may come and go as you please. No Entry Fee! No Judging! Just Come and Enjoy The Day! Food vendors and entertainment in the park! Parade, Fireworks and Other Activities throughout the day! Everyone is invited to come and check out the cars on display. Garwin 4th of July Pancake Breakfast The July 4th festivities are coming to Garwin. The Garwin Fire Department is sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast on July 4. The event will be at the City Park Shelter House and serving will be from 7 to 10 AM. The Department will also have a booth on July 3 & 4 for a 50/50 drawing. All prodeeds will go for equipment for the Garwin Fire Department.

Garwin Siren Testing The Garwin Fire Department will test emergency sirens every 3rd Monday through the summer months.

Gladbrook Men’sGroup Gladbrook Men’s Group will meet Thursday, June 18 and Tuesday, June 23, 6:30 p.m. at the City Park for clean-up. Any questions, please call Sam Goos at (641) 485-4712.

Gladbrook Lions Annual Golf Tournament Note: Date Change The Gladbrook Lions Club will host their Annual Golf Tournament on Satuday, August 8, 2009 at the Oakwood Golf Course at Conrad. 2-Person Best Shot, $25.00 entry fee/per person, bring own cart. Gladbrook Farmer’s Market Wednesday evernings 5 to 7 p.m. in front of the City Center. In case of rain, will be held in City Center.

Library Coffee Time Stop in and join us every Friday afternoon at the Gladbrook Public Library at 2 p. m. for coffee and conversation. We might even discuss a book or two. Bring a friend and hopefully brighten your day and ours!! Pat & Karen

Konicek-Mocahl Reunion The Konicek and Mochal Reunion is Sunday, June 28th at noon at the Elberon United Methodist Church basement. Bring a covered dish, table service and items of ancestor’s to share. Beverage will be funished. For information you can contact Wilma Parizek at 319-439-5439

Tama Co. Fair Assoc. The Tama County Fair Association will hold the July Meeting on Thursday, July 2 at the Tama County Fairgrounds in Gladbrook.  The meeting will start at 7:30 pm. There will be NO June meeting.   Gladbrook Museum Gladbrook Museum will be open 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday & Sunday starting May 1 until the end of November. Gladbrook Museum is located on the second floor of the City Center.

Corn Carnival Set-up & Corn Shucking Set-up for Corn Carnival will be Monday, June 22nd at 6 p.m. on Main St. Anyone able to lend a hand is appreciated. Corn Shucking will take place at the Shuffle Board Court Wednesday, June 24th, also at 6 p.m. Remember that the more that can help, the faster it goes! Corn Carnival tear-down will be Monday, June 29th at 6 p.m.

CORN COB QUEEN The Finalists names have been drawn for the Corn Cob Queen. Check out voting buckets placed around town and please vote for your favorite candidate with your extra pocket change.

Garwin Fire Department Fundraiser The Garwin Fire Department is sponsoring a 50/50 fundraiser with proceeds to go to new equipment for the department. According to organizer Donny Fleming the tickets will be available during the July 4 weekend festivities. Drawing will be on July 4 at 6 PM. Watch for further details next week.

Garwin Wednesday Night Entertainment Garwin Wednesday Night Entertainment on the bandstand on June 24 will be Frank Buhr. The time is 7 to 8 PM. July 1 Silver Creek will be performing. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the performances.
