Gladbrook Vacation Bible School Gladbrook Vacation Bible School, “Discovery Canyon” will be held June 15th-19th, from 6-8 p.m. at Peace Church for kids age 3 through 5th grade, sign up today, Peace Church: 641-473-2802; Gladbrook UMC: 641-473-2025; Christ Lutheran Church: 641-473-2527.

Gladbrook Legion The Gladbrook Legion will meet at 6:30 pm for supper at the Memorial Bldg on Monday, June 15 with meeting following. The food stand will be put up at 1pm on Saturday, June 20 and taken down again at 2pm on Sunday, June 28. Bring your hammer. The Tama County Legion is sponsoring an ice cream social in the Garwin Park Shelterhouse on Sunday, June 14, serving 5-7pm. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy an evening in the park and support our troops at the 1168 Marshalltown National Guard.

Flag Day Program A Flag Day program will be held Monday, June 15, 2 p.m., at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook. The public is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served. Hosted by the Gladbrook American Legion Auxiliary and Junior members.

Garwin Siren Testing The Garwin Fire Department will test emergency sirens every 3rd Monday through the summer months.

Gladbrook Men’sGroup Gladbrook Men’s Group will meet Thursday, June 18 and Tuesday, June 23, 6:30 p.m. at the City Park for clean-up. Any questions, please call Sam Goos at (641) 485-4712.

Gladbrook Lions Annual Golf Tournament Note: Date Change The Gladbrook Lions Club will host their Annual Golf Tournament on Satuday, August 8, 2009 at the Oakwood Golf Course at Conrad. 2-Person Best Shot, $25.00 entry fee/per person, bring own cart. Gladbrook Farmer’s Market Wednesday evernings 5 to 7 p.m. in front of the City Center. In case of rain, will be held in City Center.

Library Coffee Time Stop in and join us every Friday afternoon at the Gladbrook Public Library at 2 p. m. for coffee and conversation. We might even discuss a book or two. Bring a friend and hopefully brighten your day and ours!! Pat & Karen

Olivet Lodge #436 A.F. & A.M. Olivet Lodge #436 A.F. & A.M. will meet Thursday, June 11th. Dinner 6:30 p.m. Meat and potatoes furnished. Please bring a dish to share. Meeting at 7:30 p.m. Konicek-Mocahl Reunion The Konicek and Mochal Reunion is Sunday, June 28th at noon at the Elberon United Methodist Church basement. Tama Co. Fair Assoc. The Tama County Fair Association will hold the July Meeting on Thursday, July 2 at the Tama County Fairgrounds in Gladbrook.  The meeting will start at 7:30 pm. There will be NO June meeting.   Gladbrook Museum Gladbrook Museum will be open 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday & Sunday starting May 1 until the end of November. Gladbrook Museum is located on the second floor of the City Center.

Tama Co. American Legion post Ice Cream Social The Tama County American Legion Posts are sponsoring an Ice Cream Social in the Garwin Park Shelterhouse on Flag Day, Sunday, June 14, serving from 5-7pm. All proceeds go to support the members and families of the 1168 Transportation Co of the Marshalltown Iowa National Guard. Entertainment is planned with chances to win a yard pole/flag, house flag set or a 3x5 flag. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!

Corn Carnival Set-up & Corn Shucking Set-up for Corn Carnival will be Monday, June 22nd at 6 p.m. on Main St. Anyone able to lend a hand is appreciated. Corn Shucking will take place at the Shuffle Board Court Wednesday, June 24th, also at 6 p.m. Remember that the more that can help, the faster it goes! Corn Carnival tear-down will be Monday, June 29th at 6 p.m.

CORN COB QUEEN The Finalists names have been drawn for the Corn Cob Queen. Check out voting buckets placed around town and please vote for your favorite candidate with your extra pocket change.

Garwin Fire Department Fundraiser The Garwin Fire Department is sponsoring a 50/50 fundraiser with proceeds to go to new equipment for the department. According to organizer Donny Fleming the tickets will be available during the July 4 weekend festivities. Drawing will be on July 4 at 6 PM. Watch for further details next week.
