Gladbrook Vacation Bible School Gladbrook Vacation Bible School, “Discovery Canyon” will be held June 15th-19th, from 6-8 p.m. at Peace Church for kids age 3 through 5th grade, sign up today, Peace Church: 641-473-2802; Gladbrook UMC: 641-473-2025; Christ Lutheran Church: 641-473-2527.

The Country Cupboard Country Cupboard is having an OPEN HOUSE to celebrate our Grand Re-Opening!! Celebrate with us Thursday, June 4th thru Saturday, June 6th from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. New hours: Thursdays thru Saturdays 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. (Or call for Appointment) 3/4 Mile W. of Gladbrook on Hwy 96.

Flag Day Program A Flag Day program will be held Monday, June 15, 2 p.m., at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook. The public is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served. Hosted by the Gladbrook American Legion Auxiliary and Junior members.

Garwin Siren Testing The Garwin Fire Department will test emergency sirens every 3rd Monday through the summer months.

GMG Community Bible School Chapel Church, 1597 Abbott Ave, will host Bible School June 8-12 from 9-11:30 am. If anyone needs a ride, a bus will leave the Garwin United Methodist Church at 8:30 am each morning and will return there at 11:45 am. The program will be Sunday, June 14, at 10 am at Chapel. We hope to see you soon!

Gladbrook Lions Annual Golf Tournament Note: Date Change The Gladbrook Lions Club will host their Annual Golf Tournament on Satuday, August 8, 2009 at the Oakwood Golf Course at Conrad. 2-Person Best Shot, $25.00 entry fee/per person, bring own cart. Gladbrook Farmer’s Market Wednesday evernings 5 to 7 p.m. in front of the City Center. In case of rain, will be held in City Center.

Library Coffee Time Stop in and join us every Friday afternoon at the Gladbrook Public Library at 2 p. m. for coffee and conversation. We might even discuss a book or two. Bring a friend and hopefully brighten your day and ours!! Pat & Karen

Olivet Lodge #436 A.F. & A.M. Olivet Lodge #436 A.F. & A.M. will meet Thursday June 11th. Dinner 6:30 p.m. Meat and potatoes furnished. Please bring a dish to share. Meeting at 7:30 p.m.

Gladbrook Auxiliary The regular meeting of the Gladbrook Auxiliary will be held on Mon., June 8th, 7 p.m. Hostesses are Marie Benda & Annie Stocker.

Tama Co. Fair Assoc. The Tama County Fair Association will hold the June Meeting on Thursday, June 28th at the TAMA COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS in Gladbrook.  The meeting will start at 7:30 pm.   Gladbrook Museum Gladbrook Museum will be open 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday & Sunday starting May 1 until the end of November. Gladbrook Museum is located on the second floor of the City Center.

Little Miss & Mr. Corn Carnival Pictures for the Little Miss and Mr. Corn Carnival 2009 will be taken at the park in Gladbrook on Tuesday June 9th at 6:30 p.m. Eligible kids are those that have not previously won the honor and will be going into 2nd or 3rd grade in the fall of 2009. Registration forms can be picked up at F&M Bank, Hometown Foods, and the Post Office in Gladbrook and at Lincoln Savings Bank in Lincoln. Please have the forms filled out when you arrive for pictures on the 9th. If you have questions you can contact Melissa Sienknecht at 473-2489.

Tama Co. American Legion post Ice Cream Social The Tama County American Legion Posts are sponsoring an Ice Cream Social in the Garwin Park Shelterhouse on Flag Day, Sunday, June 14, serving from 5-7pm. All proceeds go to support the members and families of the 1168 Transportation Co of the Marshalltown Iowa National Guard. Entertainment is planned with chances to win a yard pole/flag, house flag set or a 3x5 flag. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!

Corn Carnival Set-up & Corn Shucking Set-up for Corn Carnival will be Monday, June 22nd at 6 p.m. on Main St. Anyone able to lend a hand is appreciated. Corn Shucking will take place at the Shuffle Board Court Wednesday, June 24th, also at 6 p.m. Remember that the more that can help, the faster it goes! Corn Carnival tear-down will be Monday, June 29th at 6 p.m.

CORN COB QUEEN The Finalists names have been drawn for the Corn Cob Queen. Check out voting buckets placed around town and please vote for your favorite candidate with your extra pocket change.

Gladbrook-Lincoln Senior Citizens The Gladbrook-Lincoln Senior Citizens will meet June 12th at the Peace Church. The Evening Guild ladies will be serving us a 12 o’clock (Noon) meal. Please call Marcella Lemke (473-2924) by June 8th for reservations. Please bring your own table service.
