Gladbrook Vacation Bible School Gladbrook Vacation Bible School, “Discovery Canyon” will be held June 15th-19th, from 6-8 p.m. at Peace Church for kids age 3 through 5th grade, sign up today, Peace Church: 641-473-2802; Gladbrook UMC: 641-473-2025; Christ Lutheran Church: 641-473-2527.

Coffee and Conversation Friday, May 22 at the Coffee and Conversation Group at the Gladbrook Public Library there will be an extra added attraction. Angie Knaack, R.N., will be there to speak about Grundy County Memorial Hospital. She will explain all the services they offer and answer any questions you may have about medical care. We hope you will find this interesting so bring a friend and enjoy.

Crayon Corner Learning Center registration night If you missed the Crayon Corner Learning Center registration night, please call Beth Thompson to register your preschooler for the 2009-2010 school year! Also, there are still spots available for school age children in the extended learning center before or after school. Please call 473-2875 today!

Garwin Siren Testing The Garwin Fire Department will test emergency sirens every 3rd Monday through the summer months.

“Power Lab” Community Bible School All children, ages 3 - sixth grade, are invited to a Bible School for our communites on Mon-Fri, June 8-12, 9-11:30 am at Chapel Church, 1597 Abbott Ave, Gladbrook (2 miles north of bus exchange between Garwin & Gr Mtn). To ensure adequte matierials are ordered, please pre-register your child by either contacting Claire Handorf, 473-2909, handorf@wildblue.net or getting your child’s name, age, address, phone, email, & parents’ names to GMG school by Wed, May 20. Bus transportation is available from Garwin each day. Bible School Program will be 10 am at Chapel Church on Sun, June 14.

Gladbrook City Wide Garage Sales The Gladbrook City Wide Garage sales will be held on May 29th and 30th, 2009.  If you are interested in registering a garage sale, please contact Jackie Stephenson by May 23 at 641-473-2729 or by e-mail at jstephenson@live.com.  When calling or e-mailing please have the following information ready: when you will have your garage sale, time of sale, name, and address.  Registration fee this year is $10 per sale site. Registration forms can be found at Casey’s in Gladbrook.

Gladbrook Farmer’s Market Wednesday evernings 5 to 7 p.m. in front of the City Center. In case of rain, will be held in City Center.

Library Coffee Time Stop in and join us every Friday afternoon at the Gladbrook Public Library at 2 p. m. for coffee and conversation. We might even discuss a book or two. Bring a friend and hopefully brighten your day and ours!! Pat & Karen

Lage Fish Fry The annual Lyle & Thelma Lage Fish Fry will be Wed, June 3, at 6 pm at the Gladbrook Memorial Bldg. Please bring a potluck dish and table service. Gladbrook Auxiliary The regular meeting of the Gladbrook Auxiliary will be held on Mon., June 8th, 7 p.m. Hostesses are Marie Benda & Annie Stocker.

Tama Co. Fair Assoc. The Tama County Fair Association will hold the June Meeting on Thursday, June 28th at the TAMA COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS in Gladbrook.  The meeting will start at 7:30 pm.   Gladbrook Museum Gladbrook Museum will be open 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday & Sunday starting May 1 until the end of November. Gladbrook Museum is located on the second floor of the City Center

Legion & Auxiliary Memorial Day Dinner The Gladbrook Legion/Auxiliary will be having their annual Memorial Day dinner on Monday, May 25, serving from 11-1pm, and following services at the ALL VETERANS PARK. Pork sandwiches, homemade potato salad, cole slaw and ice cream are on the menu. We appreciate your support.

Tama Co. American Legion post Ice Cream Social The Tama County American Legion Posts are sponsoring an Ice Cream Social in the Garwin Park Shelterhouse on Flag Day, Sunday, June 14, serving from 5-7pm. All proceeds go to support the members and families of the 1168 Transportation Co of the Marshalltown Iowa National Guard. Entertainment is planned with chances to win a yard pole/flag, house flag set or a 3x5 flag. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! Gladbrook Auxiliary Memorial Wreaths Gladbrook Auxiliary will be making wreaths on Thursday, May 21, 8:30 a.m. at the Memorial Building. Check to see if you are on the committee, and we hope to see you there.

Gladbrook Legion Flags Gladbrook Legion will be putting up flags for Memorial Day Avenue of Flags at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 22. Lunch following.
