Gladbrook Commercial Club Gladbrook Commercial Club will meet Thursday, May 7, 6:30 a.m. at Gifts of Grace. Two speakers will be featured. Please RSVP to Carolyn at Gifts of Grace.

G-R Prom GR Prom is May 2nd.  Come see the decorated Amvet Hall in Lincoln during the open house from 2:00-5:00 PM on the day of the prom.  Dale Wambold is hosting the event.  The Grand March will begin at 6:00.  Don’t miss the fun!   Boys State Orientation The last Boys State orientation session will be held at the Clutier Post at 1pm on Sunday, May 3.

Garwin Siren Testing The Garwin Fire Department will test emergency sirens every 3rd Monday through the summer months.

Gladbrook Auxiliary Mother’s Tea The Gladbrook Auxiliary Mother’s Tea will be held on Mon., May 11th, 1:30 p.m. The Memorial Service will be conducted, membership awards presented, and their will be a musical program. The State, District, and County Presidents will be our guest. Hostesses are Lisa Reinhard, Alma Gilchrist, and Marge Grove. Gladbrook City Wide Garage Sales The Gladbrook City Wide Garage sales will be held on May 29th and 30th, 2009.  If you are interested in registering a garage sale, please contact Jackie Stephenson by May 23 at 641-473-2729 or by e-mail at jstephenson@live.com.  When calling or e-mailing please have the following information ready: when you will have your garage sale, time of sale, name, and address.  Registration fee this year is $10 per sale site.

Gladbrook Farmer’s Market Starting Wed. May 6 - NOTE DAY CHANGE!! 5 to 7 p.m. Across from City Centre - Inside City Centre in case of rain! Homemade - Homegrown!!

Library Coffee Time Stop in and join us every Friday afternoon at the Gladbrook Public Library at 2 p. m. for coffee and conversation. We might even discuss a book or two. Bring a friend and hopefully brighten your day and ours!! Pat & Karen

Crayon Corner Extended Leaning /Daycare The Crayon Corner Extended Learning and Daycare will be open this summer. Hours will be 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday thru Friday for ages 3 and up. For costs and to sign up parents may call (641) 473-2875, ext. 227

Gladbrook Juniors Poppy Time The Gladbrook Juniors will be distributing poppies on Wed., May 13th. Meet at the Memorial Building after school for a treat and when you are finished distributing poppies in Gladbrook and Lincoln supper will be served by the Auxiliary. You may ask your friends to come along and help.

WOW Group WOW Group will meet Wednesday, May 6, at the Uptown Lounge, 6 p.m. Speaker will be on “beekeeping” to follow the meal.

Gladbrook-Lincoln Sr. Citizens Gladbrook-Lincoln Sr. Citizens will meet Friday, May 8, at Westbrook Acres. Will meet at 11:00 a.m. for program, meal at noon. No table service is necessary. Please call Marcella Lemke at (641) 473-2924 with reservations by Monday, May 4.

“Share the Memories” Iowa River Hospice will be hosting its semi-annual memorial service on Tuesday,May 5th. It will be in the Conference Room at the Marshalltown Public Library 105 W Boone St. The service will be held from 5:30 pm 7:00 pm and will honor Iowa River Hospice patients cared for during the months of October 1st 2008 thru March 31, 2009. All members of the hospice staff will be present for the service. It will be a time of sharing memories and inspiration. The public is invited to be a part of this special service.

Grief Healers Support Group Iowa River Hospice hosts a Grief Healers Support Group at Marshalltown Library in Group Study Room #1(Notice NEW Location) on May 7th @ 1:00-2:00 pm. This group meets at the same time and place the first Thursday of each month. We are open to all individuals who have experienced the death of a loved one. Grief is a healthy and natural response to death. It is difficult to process. Come join us in our journey of healing. If questions call 753-7704.
