Gladbrook Auxiliary The Gladbrook Auxiliary will meet on Mon., April 13th, at 7:00 p.m. There will be reports from Children & Youth Chr. Joan King and National Security Jeanne Paustian. Hostesses are Sandy Johannsen and Marlys Wegner.

Community Good Friday Service You are invited to attend the Community Good Friday service at Chapel Church, 1597 Abbott Ave (2 1/2 miles west of Gladbrook, four miles south) at 7:30 pm on April 10. Pastors from Garwin, Gladbrook & Lincoln churches will give short meditations, and the community choir will perform. Choir members, please arrive at 7 pm. Lunch will be served afterwards.

Easter Dawn Service The annual Easter Dawn Service will be hosted by the Gladbrook UMC. This is a delightful service presented by the senior high youth of the community on Sun., April 12th, 7 a.m. A breakfast follows the service, adding to the joy of Easter morning.

Maundy Thursday Services Please join the Peace Church congregation as they relive the story of the Passover on Thurs, April 9th, at 7 pm. There will be Holy Communion and the Chancel Choir will sing. There will be a special experience for the children and the meditation is entitled “Peter Meets Mr. Clean”.

Garwin Easter Egg Hunt Garwin will hold their Easter Egg Hunt for kids preschool thru 4th grade on Saturday, April 11, 9:00 a.m., at the City Park. The Easter Egg Hunt is sponsored by the Garwin Ambulance.

Open Gym There will be an Open Gym in Gladbrook in the Middle School Gym on Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Come enjoy the fun.

Easter Bunny is Coming to Town The Easter Bunny will be hiding eggs for all kids ages 0 to 4th grade on April 11th, 10:30a.m. at the Gladbrook City Park. Movie at the City Center to follow. Rain location at City Center. Parents must accompany their children.

Library Coffee Time Stop in and join us every Friday afternoon at the Gladbrook Public Library at 2 p. m. for coffee and conversation. We might even discuss a book or two. Bring a friend and hopefully brighten your day and ours!! Pat & Karen

Raymond Family Benefit On Thursday, April 16 a benefit for the Sean and Deanne Raymond family will be held at GMG Elementary. Mrs. Raymond is an employee of GMG, and the couple have 3 children in the school. The Raymonds lost most of their belongings in a house fire in January. The benefit will run from 5:00-8:00. We will begin with a “free will donation” walking taco meal from 5:00 to 6:30 followed by a children’s talent show and silent auction. The silent auction will consist of theme baskets. If you have any questions or would like to donate, please call 641-474-2251.

Jerry’s Barbershop Jerry’s Barbershop in Garwin will be CLOSED April 10th through April 18th.

Crayon Corner Extended Leaning/Daycare The Crayon Corner Extended Learning and Daycare will be open this summer. Hours will be 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday thru Friday for ages 3 and up. For costs and to sign up parents may call (641) 473-2875, ext. 227

Easter Worship at Peace Church Come and celebrate that “Christ the Lord is Risen Today”. The Easter worship service on Sun., April 12th, 10:30 a.m. at Peace Chuch will be one of vibrant music, lessons, meditation, and special time with the children. The sanctuary will be beautifully adorn in Easter lilies and colorful mums. The Chancel Choir will be singing “In the Garden”. What a wonderful way to climax Holy Week.

Good Friday Afternoon Services The Northwest Tama County Ministerial Association extends an invitation to the community to attend the Good Friday service at 2:00 p.m. at Westbrook Acres. All are welcome to join the residents and their families for this service that remembers Jesus Crhist who died on the cross for us. A time of fellowship follows.
